To All Kids and supporters of minor league baseball:
Did you know that almost 550 children, ages five to 18, from the Orleans community participated in the 2017 Orleans Little League Baseball (OLLB) Spring instructional Season. And, this summer over 125 children (11 teams) are representing the OLLB in the Little League competitive season.
The Orleans Red Sox Minor Team C2 took on the task of raising enough funds so that they could host a tournament in their hometown of Orleans. The objective of the Minor program is player development, while promoting fair play and instilling respect, commitment, hard work and a love of ‘the game’ in our young athletes.
The success of this tournament relies heavily on volunteer and community support. As such, we wanted to share with you our magical event where all the hard work pays off, our first ever “All Kids Play Ball Baseball Tournament”. A tournament geared to C Level teams, who normally are challenged to find events to compete at. Five great teams from our two teams here in Orleans (Red Sox C1 and Red Sox C2), to two teams from South Ottawa (Blues Hughes and Blues Mulligan), to a team from Prescott-Russell (the Rangers) will be competing for an event that without our efforts and our players’ enthusiasm, kids would never have a chance at. We will have great games throughout the day, BBQ, cake maybe even a visit from the Ottawa Champions mascot. Please join us in this celebration, between July 21st and 23rd ,2017.
